Accounts Receivable Supervisor

What is the opportunity?

As the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will maintain a high level of customer service whilst overseeing the provision of accurate and timely financial transaction processing and administrative services. You will also be responsible for the management of the collection process, communication with clinic supervisors, resolving issues with billing and reviewing credit claims. This is a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week with flexibility on start and finish times.

Reporting to the General Manager Finance, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Oversee accounts staff duties including but not limited to; raising credit notes and refunds where applicable, receives and verifies payments, verifies that payments comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Directing accounts staff worklists and priorities.
  • Manage and report on the collection process on a monthly basis.
  • Review customer credit claims on a monthly basis.
  • Liaise with external debt collection service providers as required and report on their performance quarterly.
  • Monitor the billing of major hospital accounts.
  • Contribute to accounts related system developments including testing.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of billing policies, processes and training materials and implementation as required.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of practice billing content and compliance programmes.
  • Liaise with Medicare to resolve billing issues.
  • Attend & actively participate in all billing committee meetings & monthly clerical supervisor meetings.

What do you need to be considered?

Previous experience supervising and leading accounts teams within a healthcare services environment is mandatory. You should be able to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines whilst providing support to your team when required. In addition to the above you should have:

  • Intermediate MS office skills, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office administration and bookkeeping.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable and digital debtor systems.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using accounting software packages and internet banking software.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Ability to provide a National Police Check within 6 months or willing to obtain.
