The Role:
The Accredited Professionals Scheme ensures that planning and building professionals who assess development applications are suitability qualified and maintain minimum standards of professional practice in order to provide reliability, flexibility and accountability in the planning process. The Accredited Professionals Scheme helps to facilitate: 

  • Better decision making
  • Improved recognition of professionals
  • Faster processing of applications
  • Better management of complaints
  • Centralised public register for all Accredited Professionals.

The primary purpose of the Accredited Professionals Scheme Coordinator is to oversee and manage the accreditation process and monitor compliance by Accredited Professionals with continuing professional development requirements consistent with the legislation. The Accredited Professionals Scheme Coordinator will maintain relationships with partnering organisations and members of the planning and development community and will provide customer service for all enquiries in relation to the Accredited Professionals Scheme.

The Accredited Professionals Scheme Coordinator will also provide backup support to the Legislative Services Team in the coordination and management of its functions, including legal services, statutory delegations, authorised officer services and legislative or regulation changes.

About You:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities: 

  • Sound knowledge of planning and development processes and associated codes, standards and legislative requirements as well as experience in the interpretation and application of legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and act on opportunities to improve processes and operations.
  • Proven ability to maintain relationships with external parties, including partnering organisations and members of a professional community.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills relevant to a range of audiences, including the community, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to meet competing priorities and deadlines under broad direction.

Desirable Qualification:
Tertiary qualifications in legal studies, planning, or related field.

Special Conditions
Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.

Remuneration:
ASO6 $97,022 min  - $102,626 max
