We are seeking someone who is passionate about leveraging data to drive impactful marketing strategies to join our dynamic Marketing team.

The Marketing and Communications Office are a group of committed professional services staff who are dedicated to inspire people to choose Murdoch University. Through brand, marketing and communications strategies; we enhance the reputation of the University and drive future growth. The team share the work of Murdoch University's academics, researchers, staff and students with the Murdoch community, as well as domestic and international audiences.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Acquisition Marketing - you will be responsible for the development and delivery of acquisition marketing activities that support the University's strategic plan and commercial objectives. The role is a dynamic and engaging blend of data analytics, creative campaign development, and strategic execution. As a key contributor to the University's acquisition marketing team, you will have the unique opportunity to drive our first party data strategy, leverage data insights, implement cutting-edge marketing automation workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful strategies aligned with the institution's goals.


Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Analyse marketing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, interpret and utilise data to drive marketing strategies.
  • Manage and optimize the existing measurement framework, focusing on conversion and attribution metrics
  • Ensure ongoing optimization of data analysis processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.


Lead Capture and Marketing Automation:

  • Development of lead capture strategies to attract high quality leads
  • Design, implement, and optimise marketing automation workflows based on data-driven and audience -led insights to enhance users experience and unsure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and maintain our marketing automation platform, ensuring seamless integration with other systems (e.g CRM)

Campaign Optimisation:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns based on data-driven insights.
  • Work alongside the marketing team to capture data and insights from campaign activity (campaign tracking and establishing conversion metrics)
  • Continuously refine and improve direct marketing campaign strategies through A/B testing, performance analysis, content optimisation, and enhancing audience profiling.
  • Providing recommendations and support on the utilisation of first party data and associated platforms for campaign optimisation and governance purposes

Data Governance:

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing and maintaining data governance best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to establish and enforce data quality standards.
  • Maintain marketing database governance, ensuring compliance with opt-out preferences and responsibly managing the accuracy of marketing data utilisation.

Reporting and Dashboards:

  • Create insightful reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and provide actionable insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.


What you'll bring to this role

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related field of study, with extensive experience in a marketing role or similar.
  • Proven experience in marketing analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Expertise in marketing automation platforms, including automated journey development and database extensions management. (Not mandatory, but Salesforce expertise is highly desirable)
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, database management and marketing data use regulations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
