ACT Policing is looking for a motivated, experienced and creative individual to be considered for the role of Communications and Events Officer in the Communications and Government Relations portfolio.
ACT Policing has a strong focus on engaging with the Canberra community in a relaxed and accessible environment, providing opportunities for the people to speak with their local police about the work they do, crime prevention, local issues, safety in the community and ACT Policing careers.
The Band 4 Communications and Events Officer is responsible for ACT Policing’s participation, coordination and management of interactive community engagement displays at major events in Canberra throughout the year.
The role is also responsible for organising ACT Policing’s own community engagement events, such as Coffee with a Cop and Cop Pop-Ups, and facilitating requests for ACT Policing attendance at community and school events or engagement opportunities.
The successful applicant will also be required to assist other areas across the portfolio including media, social media and strategic communications.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
