Essential Criteria:
Qualifications:Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Sexual Assault Worker or Psychology
Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership and relevant equivalent professional experience.
Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor degree) in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
- Demonstrated counselling experience in complex trauma and trauma informed practice within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect setting (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence services), with skills in the development, facilitation and evaluation of groups.
- Demonstrated high level assessment, case formulation, intervention planning (including case management) and counselling skills with young people and adults, with a capacity to draw on a wide range of therapeutic modalities.
- Demonstrated high level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
- Knowledge and understanding of current policies and legislation relating to sexual assault and other forms of interpersonal violence and knowledge of legal systems involved in sexual assault service provision.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work with in partnership with others.
- Experience in, or commitment to, working with individuals and families from indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Hold a current driver's license valid in Australia and willingness to use for work purposes
