The Role
An exciting opportunity has opened up in the position of Advanced Linesperson within the Network & Infrastructure Division.
In this role, you will be responsible for effective management and support in the planning, construction and maintenance work in relation to railway Overhead Line Equipment (OLE). This position also ensures a high level of safety for persons and reliability of assets.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Competency in all lower level Linesperson requirements, or the equivalent skills, knowledge and overhead maintenance experience. This includes current accreditation in the following:
  • Working at Heights
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Elevated Work Platform.
  • Leadership, supervisory and on the job training skills, with proven capacity to ensure work is completed safely and expediently.
  • Well developed communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) skills, including a demonstrated commitment and ability to work in a close team environment to successfully achieve operational and department goals.
  • A very good understanding of the operational needs of an electrified railway and of relevant related Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management and Human Resources policies and practices.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the full range of administrative, construction, repair and maintenance tasks required for Overhead Line Maintenance and 25kV A.C. Overhead Line Equipment including fault finding and running repairs.
  • Sound technical knowledge and analytical and problem solving skills to undertake the varied responsibilities and tasks of this position.
  • A current Western Australian ‘C' Class Driver’s licence or equivalent for at least 2 years, or an ‘LR’ or ‘MR’ Class Drivers licence for at least 1 year. This requirement continues for the duration of employment in this position and from time to time production of the licence on request by the PTA may be required.
You must be available for shift work (including days and nights) and on call. This may include weekend work. These positions will operate on a 6 week rotational roster.
