2x AO5 Youth Advice Line and Certification Coordinators (fulltime temporary until 30 June 2025) - $96,366 - $104,519

You will have a key role coordinating the Youth Advice line for the whole of Queensland, enabling children to receive legal advice and taking calls in accordance with s421 of the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000. You will prepare and allocate lawyers on to shifts for the Advice Line, collect and input all data received from calls, collate this data into reports for internal and external stakeholders. You will also be the key coordinator for the Youth Certification training, which offers training for lawyers, and allows them to become accredited to hold and appear on Youth matters.

1x AO5 Adult Advice Line Coordinators (fulltime temporary until 30 June 2027) - $96,366 - $104,519

You will have a key role coordinating the Adult Advice line for the whole of Queensland, enabling adults to receive legal advice to facilitate their access to diversionary options and taking calls in accordance with the service stemming from Recommendations 98 and 99 of the Hear Her Voice Report 2. You will prepare and allocate lawyers on to shifts for the Advice Line, collect and input all data received from calls, collate this data into reports for internal and external stakeholders. You will also be the key coordinator for the training regarding the Advice Line and content relevant to lawyers providing advice on the line.

About you

Below are the knowledge and skills required for the role. Your application and ongoing performance will be assessed on these core capabilities:

  • You have extensive legal administrative experience, and have knowledge of court procedures, ideally in relation to youth justice matters.
  • You have experience undertaking projects and can investigate, analyse information and identify potential solutions to problems. You can also plan and monitor task progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • You prepare written information in a clear, succinct and accurate manner. You can use information technology systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and can learn organisation specific systems.
  • You can communicate effectively with clients with complex needs, particularly young people and provide courteous, prompt and professional services.
  • You can build and sustain relationships with team members, other colleagues and external stakeholders including government departments, police and lawyers.
