In this role, you will support day to day health, Safety and Wellness operations across the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) and Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL). This includes assisting the Health, Safety, and Wellness (HSW) Manager in incident and hazard management, compliance with policy, procedures and relevant legislation, and supporting a positive workplace culture through communication, training and education.Key responsibilities will include:Incident and Hazard ManagementCoordinate annual health, Safety and Wellness compliance assessments of worksites across the faculties and assist in implementing corrective action plans.Support staff with the development and review of risk assessments, and where appropriate with the completion of accident, injury and hazard reports.Assist with incident and hazard investigations and ensure recommended corrective or risk mitigation actions have been implemented.Assist with health, Safety and Wellness audits, as required.Culture and TrainingAssist with health, Safety and Wellness inductions and training for staff and students and organise specialised or external safety training, as required.Monitor staff compliance with mandatory training requirements.Assist with the design, implementation and review of projects intended to improve workload health, Safety and Wellness.Support and contribute to engagement opportunities that build a positive health, Safety and Wellness culture.Communication and Advisory SupportContribute to the development, review and updating of local health, Safety and Wellness materials.Consult and liaise with local areas, UQ Health, Safety and Wellness, and other areas of the University to provide expert guidance on all matters relating to health, Safety and Wellness for all stakeholders across the faculties.This is a part-time (60%), continuing position.At HEW level 6, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099 - $94,512, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $103,076 - $110,579 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouDegree qualifications in occupational health and safety or a related field with subsequent relevant experience, and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience.Demonstrated experience and proven achievement in providing expert advice and guidance on effective health, Safety and Wellness matters, and supporting the implementation of relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.A working, practical knowledge of relevant legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards, or the ability to acquire such knowledge.Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and establish and become a trusted adviser to key clients.Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills to support delivery of health, Safety and Wellness initiatives and compliance requirements.Experience working in professional advisory and/or service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
