Role Overview

As an Aeronautical Simulation Software Engineer you will be supporting engineering activities associated with through-life support contracts in accordance with CAE’s engineering management system as well as upgrades and installations.

This role can be based out of Homebush or Brisbane, with the plan that it will regularly travel to our sites, domestically and may require international travel too.

The role we are offering you

  • Development of Simulation Software solutions for assigned tasks
  • Maintenance of existing software which requires bug investigation and clearance.
  • Deployment and/or testing of a product at a customer site
  • Provide expertise in flight, motion, sound and QTG areas during Recurrent Fidelity Checks and simulator accreditation activities.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelors or equivalent, ideally within aeronautical or mechatronics
  • Strong critical thinking capability
  • Ability to present confidently to stakeholders and navigate accreditation meetings
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, aircraft performance and flight dynamic principles

Security requirements 

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
