The Role:
The role of the Forklift Operator is to unload and transport goods around the Distribution Centre using a mechanical tool such as a forklift or pallet jack.
*Permanent, full-time afternoon shift available. Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 10.30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload containers and trucks.
- Transport goods to designated areas.
- Move goods to and from storage areas.
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
- Use the correct equipment in a safe and efficient way to minimise damage to stock and equipment.
- Inspect, control and perform minor repairs to reduce wear and damage to forklifts.
- Pick carton and full pallet orders using RF scanning equipment.
- Pick from and put away pallets to block stacking, single and double deep racking and High Density Racking.
- Ensure customer standards and requirements are met.
- Identify hazards in the workplace and work in a safe manner.
- Perform cleaning duties as required.
Required Skills:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Good computer skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Experience on high reach desirable not essential
- Experience with RF scanning desirable not essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - (FMCG experience advantageous).
- Ability to multitask.
- Proven experience as Forklift Operator.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- Excellent physical condition and coordination.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification to operate forklifts.
- Car License
