What do I need?
- A committed Christian with a vision for community service to the elderly and the commitment to be part of the caring team of Carinity
- Demonstrated experience in Pastoral Care and/or Pastoral Counselling, dealing with complex interpersonal situations, death/dying, grief and loss and respecting confidentiality
- Bachelor of Ministry or other pastoral care/counselling qualifications and/or experience relevant to the role
- Compassion and a genuine interest in caring for the elderly, supporting their dignity and independence
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, offering support/assistance where required
- Advanced interpersonal skills for pastoral care and communication in multi-faith and multi-disciplinary settings, with the ability to relate to all residents, families, employees and management
- Written communication skills, including ability to write in business English, keep appropriate records and create reports
- Highly developed verbal communication skills, including public speaking for church services and promotional events/activities
- Ability to maintain acceptable professional standards including confidentiality of resident documents and information
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or current Police Check Certificate issued before the 1 February 2021
- Current Flu and up to date Covid-19 Vaccinations
- Knowledge of dementia and other conditions common in the elderly
- Current First Aid Certificate
