Key duties and responsibilities include -:
- Operation of large-scale machinery and broadacre faming equipment, including tractor drawn plant and self-propelled sprayers and combine harvesters.
- Assist with preparation and positioning of plant for the implementation of each part of the cropping cycle.
- Assist in all aspects of farm maintenance, including clearing laneways, catchments, and management of remnant vegetation.
- Assist with servicing and minor repairs or fabrications of machinery and grain storage facilities, that align with delivery of cropping operations.
- Input data in record keeping systems across rainfall, paddock, plant, and machinery.
- Supply reports on stock levels of cropping inputs on hand, which are used during planting operations e.g.: fuel, oil, fertiliser and chemicals.
- Provide training and supervision of seasonal/casual staff & contractors in a manner that ensures our business remains compliant with WHS.
Advantageous Skills and Experience:
- At least 1 year work experience
- Knowledge of agricultural machinery, chemicals, and use of farming equipment.
- Demonstrate an understanding of controlled traffic farming, including experience with Greenstar technology.
- Good computer literacy and experience using these skills to manage farming programs.
- Driver’s licence and preference for a HC/MC licence or willingness to obtain.
