Gippsland Regional Agribusiness
Our Gippsland Regional Agribusiness manage 12 farming and forestry properties across the central Gippsland region. Our largest property, Dutson Downs, spans a massive 8,250 Ha near Golden Beach. Some activities our team does include managing pastures, fodder crops, winter and summer crops, breeding and finishing cattle, dryland cropping, soft wood forestry and recycled water irrigation.
The opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a motivated, team-oriented recent school leaver to join our team at Dutson Downs as an Agriculture Trainee. You don’t need any post-school qualifications or experience to apply. Kick start your career with us and get paid while you learn!
You’ll help with the day-to-day activities of the Gippsland Regional Agribusiness including animal handling, general maintenance, cropping, safely operating machinery and using technology to capture farm data.
You’ll get practical experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and be supported by dedicated mentors and continual training to set you up for a fulfilling career.
Traineeship wages will be paid in accordance with the National Training Wage schedule.
What you’ll bring
- Self-motivation and commitment to completing a Certificate IV in Agriculture
- Interest to learn and develop your skills in Agriculture
- Enthusiasm and ability to work well in a team to achieve team objectives
- Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills
- Good communication skills, for the humans, not just the animals
- A current driver's licence
