Access theDigital Strategy Division is led by the QPS Chief Digital Officer. It is a new division within the QPS, with an exciting transformative remit. The division partners with the frontline to enable and facilitate digital solutions that enhance the Service's frontline service delivery and maximise opportunities for efficiencies. It has an eye on the future - designing and developing the future data and digital capabilities, seeking out innovative digital solutions and building the future digital landscape.As part of this role, you will work with the Director Data Strategy, Digital Strategy Division who will be responsible for driving data transformation to revolutionise data and analytics process across the QPS. The Director Data Strategy will also lead the development and operation of a framework that will enable the QPS to explore and maximise opportunities offered by emerging Artificial Intelligence capabilities.This role requires you to contribute and support change in a large complex environment and navigate through ambiguity so sound decisions and driven portfolio outcomes are achieved.The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Provide technical and thought leadership on emerging AI technologies and the impact they might have towards the strategic objectives of the Queensland Police Service.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication and alignment on AI project goals, progress, and outcomes.
  • Work in a small team, as an AI centre of excellence, to manage and execute strategies to implement the QPS AI Framework, providing advice on AI adoption, ethics, assurance, and governance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Generative AI, machine learning, and data science and effectively communicate these developments to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement AI solutions in collaboration with business representatives and other technical teams, in response to evolving need, that improve productivity across the QPS.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance, and governance standards are maintained while leveraging various data sources to derive valuable insights into user interaction and AI products.
  • Establish KPIs, evaluate AI product performance, and create reports and presentations to communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
Role Requirements:Qualification:
  • While not mandatory, a degree level qualification in Information Technology or similar is highly desirable, as would any applicable Artificial Intelligence field related certification.
Technical/Operational/Eduational experience:
  • A high level of awareness of emerging AI frameworks and LLMOps architectures. Extensive communications skills, with the proven ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
