2023 is going to be an exciting year for us and now is your opportunity to play your part in this iconic brand. An Engineering apprenticeship is a four-year commitment that will be comprised of a combination of TAFE, in-house courses and practical training (please note, some apprenticeships span for three years, depending on trade). You will move through areas of the relevant business applicable to the relevant trade, receiving training on a Qantas Airways and or customer aircraft.

Depending on your chosen trade, typically your role will include:

Mechanical Apprentice will maintain, inspect and undertake fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems and mechanical components and accessories on aircraft. These include undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurisation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, engine control systems and pressurisation and environmental control systems.

Structures Apprentice will maintain and repair sheet metal, bonded and non-metallic composite materials including fibreglass and carbon fibre materials and components on and off the aircraft. These include airframe, wings, control surfaces, internal fittings and surfaces.

You’ll have:

A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands-on trade

A high level of motivation and passion to want to be part of the aviation sector

Exceptional teamwork

Good hand skills with the ability to use a variety of tooling

Australian Citizenship or hold Australian Permanent Residency Status

Ability to work all shift patterns

Availability to commence from February 2023
