Army Aviation Training Centre (AAvnTC) is the Oakey base for Airbus facilities located about 25 kms from Toowoomba in Queensland.
The Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH) Tiger has been in service with the Australian Army since 2004. The Tiger's stealthy design, agility and integrated sensor and weapons systems make it ideal for operating in both the reconnaissance and fire support roles.
About the role
Airbus in Oakey is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical (AME - Mech) to join our ARH Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Team Lead Maintenance, you will be responsible for performing Operational and Deeper maintenance on the ARH platform.
The Mechanical AME's will be responsible for ensuring:
- Performance of all Maintenance activities while also conducting off Aircraft Maintenance
- Support of operational units in Industry specific tasks, such as advanced systems troubleshooting and rectification, and aircraft or component modifications
- Execute maintenance within the bounds of the authority level delegated by the relevant responsible manager
- Identify new opportunities and assist in the development of associated business cases for enhancement of maintenance services
This position sits within the ARH Contract agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia.
Roster
Shift rotation of 2 weeks morning (6.30am - 3pm) and 2 weeks afternoon (2.30pm - 10.30pm)
About you
The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:
- Cert IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) or equivalent issued by a Registered Training Organisation
- High-Level aviation airworthiness regulatory knowledge applicable in the relevant environment
- Understanding of relevant Aircraft Maintenance documentation and practices
- Knowledge of and experience using Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs)
- Experience in a Maintenance Organisation environment
- Ability to obtain a B level Military Aircraft Maintenance License
- Ability to obtain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance
