About our Engineering Team
The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering operational excellence. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet.
As part of the investment in our future, we have a fleet of new A320NEO’s arriving from mid-2022 and we recently launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the primary maintenance hub of our network. Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar aircraft, but also support Qantas Group A320/1, B717 and A321 Freighter aircraft and Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBA’s) in Singapore and Japan. The Melbourne Precinct has also become the proud new home for our Apprentice Program.
The Opportunity
As an Aircraft Optimisation & Allocations Coordinator reporting to Manager Maintenance Planning, you are responsible to ensure the right aircraft get to the right ports for daily maintenance acquittal. This is a key role that interfaces between Engineering and Operations Control, sitting in the heart of our daily Jetstar Operations Control Centre (JOCC). Working upstream with our Maintenance Operations and Planning teams and downstream with Airline Networks and Operations teams, you will utilise your previous engineering or airline operations experience, to ensure all of our aircraft get to the right ports for planned maintenance activities, thereby optimising our maintenance planning, whilst balancing other operational needs and reducing the need for aircraft swaps.
The core responsibilities of this role are

  • Provide leadership, guidance and consistently demonstrate Jetstar values to all Planning staff.
  • Support the continual improvement of the operation. Work with stakeholders to achieve best Operational & Customer outcomes.
  • Provide flexible support where necessary to the Line Planning teams.
  • Ongoing schedule ownership to support maintenance demand and compliance control.
  • Lead Rocade/Movement Manager training for Maintenance Operations to further strengthen maintenance/operations schedule optimization.

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, ability to play a key interface role amongst Engineering, Maintenance, Networks and Operations stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Planning or Operations role.
  • Strong Operational experience/ ability to engage with and develop the team.
  • Strong Analytical/ problem solving skills.
  • Work under pressure: Must be able to think clearly, creatively and work independently under pressure whilst being an effective team member.
  • Willingness to work on a rotating 12 h day shift, 4 days on, 4 days off roster.
  • Strong prioritising and time management skills
