Aircraft Painter

We are searching for a trade qualified Spray Painter to join our growing team at our Melbourne Airport facility. This position is responsible for all the application of all surface finishes and associated materials on aircraft structures.
Snapshot of the role:
- Performance of basic hand skills, standard trade practices and fundamentals in aviation maintenance
- Removal of surface coatings and light corrosion from aircraft or aircraft components.
- Preparing and Pre-treating aircraft or aircraft component surfaces
- Sealing aircraft and aircraft component structural seams
- Removal and installation of aircraft non-structural component
- Painting / surface coating aircraft and aircraft component surfaces
- Applying aircraft identification markings and decals
- Planning and organising own aviation maintenance work activities as they apply to painting and finishing
- Applying quality standards applicable to aviation maintenance processes as they apply to painting and finishing
- Interpreting and using aviation maintenance technical data including manuals, drawings, and specifications as they apply to painting and finishing
- Completion of aviation maintenance industry documentation as required by relevant
- Regulations and Quality procedures
What we are looking for:
- Successful completion of a trade apprenticeship, with hands on experience in a Spray Painter role - Automotive or Aviation industry exposure is preferred
- Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of quality assurance procedures (Experience with aviation procedures preferred)
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of Environment Health and Safety procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in using aircraft maintenance Technical Data (preferred)
- High professional standards i.e. attention to detail, self motivated, appropriate workplace behaviour
- Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving skills
