Responsibilities of the role:
Ramp Service Agents and Baggage Handlers play a crucial role in the essential "behind-the-scenes" operations at the airport. These positions, based on the airport tarmac, offer a unique opportunity to work in an area that few get to explore.
Our Ramp Service team carries out a wide range of responsibilities, including sorting, loading, and unloading baggage and cargo, providing cabin cleaning services, driving airside to relocate crew and essential ground support equipment, facilitating lavatory and water services, and even assisting with the pushback of aircraft in preparation for departure.
Working in this fast-paced and safety-oriented team environment, our employees are exposed to a dynamic and variable schedule that aligns with airline timetables. This includes early morning starts, late shifts, and weekends.
Ideal candidate will possess the following
- Maintain good physical fitness as lifting up to 32kg is required.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Feel confident in utilizing scanning technology.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a primary focus on safety.
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and advance.
- Possess a valid Australian driver's license (either probationary or full) and have reliable transportation.
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Have the capacity to obtain a criminal history check and ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
- Provide your own pair of Black Steel Cap Boots.
- Must be 18 years of age and older

Salary Range: $26.27 - $52.28 per hour
- A 20% pay increase applies to hours worked between midnight and 6 am.
- Salary will be subject to review following a 6-month probationary period and annual increases thereafter.
This role necessitates full availability, with shifts ranging from a minimum of 4 hours to a maximum of 12 hours per day. Flexibility is key, as the rostered hours fluctuate across morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
