Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for Part Time/ Casual Customer Service Officers and Baggage Handlers, based at Burnie Airport.
This position will see you as part of a small team, performing all tasks associated with the check-in, boarding, dispatch, record keeping, loading and unloading of aircraft and baggage reconciliation of flights operated by our client airline. You will initially receive training in basic functions of your role, and over time be progressively introduced to more complex functions and procedures. Tasks you may be involved in during a shift include (but are not limited to):
• Pre-flight editing and document generation;
• Escorting passengers from the tarmac to the terminal;
• Checking in passengers;
• Assisting passengers with special requirements to and from the aircraft;
• Liaising with flight and cabin crew;
• Resolving mishandled baggage issues;
• Boarding passengers at the gate;
• Maintaining accurate flight records.
• Marshalling aircraft on and off bay;
• Unloading and loading of baggage and freight;
• Driving on airport;
Aviation is a safety-critical industry, and we expect all employees to be meticulous in following standardised procedures, reporting incidents and occurrences, and contributing to a safe and efficient workplace.

There are also opportunities to transfer to any of our numerous bases across Australia, and from time to time to assist short-term at these locations.
What we will need from you:
• Fluent in spoken English;
• Friendly, with a positive attitude;
• Well presented and able to adhere to airline grooming standards;
• Reliable transport to and from Burnie Airport;
• Punctual, reliable and with excellent time management;
• Computer literate;
• Current State Drivers Licence;
• Able to obtain an ASIC (requires a federal police background check);
• Willing and able to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays.
