About You:

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Anaesthetic Staff Specialist within the Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine.

The Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine is committed to the achievement of best practice in the design and delivery of services to its patients. This involves the pursuit of quality improvement and innovation in every aspect of its operation.

As an Anaesthetic Staff Specialist, you will undertake clinical duties in anaesthesia-related patient care, as required by the Head of Unit, Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospital Department of Anaesthesia.

In this role you will teach the discipline of anaesthesia to medical undergraduate and postgraduate trainees, and supervise their clinical practice in this discipline.

Participation in the various Continuing Medical Education and Quality Assurance activities of the Department of Anaesthesia is a primary objective of this role.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.

  • National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
