Overview
In a training capacity, you will contribute to the provision of an Anaesthesia Service at the Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service working between Mount Gambier and Millicent. Working within the objectives and philosophies of the Limestone Coast Local Health Network and the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), you will have a commitment to clinical teaching and research portfolios. You will provide professional Anaesthetic care to all patients allocated to your current department, in consultation with the responsible Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. Conducting wards rounds and attending outpatient clinics, you will assist in elective theatre operating sessions on a scheduled basis. You may also attend to patients in the Emergency Department as required. As part of your role, you will actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and audits, along with participating in Anaesthetic research projects as required by the Head of Anaesthesia. Mount Gambier & District Health Service is the largest hospital in rural South Australia. About You
- You will hold a Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrating postgraduate clinical experience, you will have sound knowledge of contemporary anaesthetic practice, clinical standards and procedures appropriate to the level of the position.
- You will have proven skills in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level, utilising your knowledge of investigations and the care of anaesthesia patients.
- Able to commence at short notice.
