The Role
This new opportunity has become available for an Analyst Software Engineer with backend experience in either .Net, Java or Python to join NAB's highly respected front office XVA team within our Financial Markets business. The role is in a dynamic and collegiate team of engineers, developers and quant analysts engaged in designing, building, and supporting core infrastructure that is utilised globally and extensively by the bank across Trading, Sales, and Structuring activities.
- Work in a small, collaborative team environment, with minimal bureaucracy and a focus on delivering quality work.
- Provide technical expertise across a multitude of cloud infrastructure, security, systems, and application platforms to plan, develop, install, configure, and support environments.

What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar Software Engineer Analyst role within Financial Markets
- Solid understanding of software development principles and concepts
- 2- 4 years commercial development experience with either .Net, Java and Python
- Knowledge of building distributed systems, for example by using technologies such as REST, JSON, cloud-based development/principles
- Experience with SQL databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and writing SQL queries
- Exposure to Git and Github, CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins)
- Experience in building cloud technology highly regarded (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud etc)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; and a willingness to learn new skills, adapt to evolving technologies, varying environments, and shifting project requirements
- Pro-active, self-motivated, and eager to accept new challenges
- Detail-oriented with a focus on rigorous testing and debugging to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Tertiary qualification in a numerate discipline such as Maths, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.
