SalarySMS Innovative Labour Pty Ltd is looking for Ancillary Mechanic to join their team based in various locations in Western Australia.
Position Purpose:
- Maintain a safe workplace and assess risks associated with tasks performed
- Maintenance of SMS fleet of mobile equipment and other plant that is contractually under the responsibility of SMS Innovative Mining Solutions
- Undertake tasks as requested by Leading Hands / Supervisors / SMS Management
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain and test diesel and petrol/gas-powered heavy equipment including trucks, buses, dozers and other earthmoving equipment
- Detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment
- Repair and maintain the hydraulic components of diesel and petrol/gas engines that are used to power attachments such as hoists, booms, scrapers, buckets and augers
Minimum Position Requirements:
(a) Qualifications/Licenses
- Australian citizen or foreign national with appropriate and current working visa.
- National Police Clearance
- Australian Driver's License
- Mechanical Trade Certificate
(b) Skills
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic, repair and service skills
(c) Knowledge/Approach
- Must be able to complete paperwork in a timely and appropriate manner
(d) Experience & Ability
- 3+ years' experience with heavy earthmoving machinery
- Ability to be able to comply with safety requirements of SMS Innovative Mining and the client to all levels.
- To be able to work autonomously and in a team environment within your own crew and with cross over crews.
