Position Summary

Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Gerontology Nursing

Andrews House – Trafalgar

Fixed Term Part Time – 56 hours per fortnight

May 2024 to February 2025 (leave backfill)

Opportunities currently exist for enthusiastic, experienced Registered Nurses with a passion for Gerontology Nursing to utilise their leadership skills in our innovative and committed team at our Aged Care facility in Trafalgar. Our Team has a focus in providing comprehensive Nursing care in an environment that supports and respects our consumer’s right for individual dignity and choice.

As an ANUM you will demonstrate competence in the provision of quality nursing care to residents and assume responsibility for the nursing plan of care, have the authority to make and is held accountable for patient care, management decisions specific to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the plan.

We offer comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, in house salary packaging and onsite car parking. We have a learning culture, supported by an Educator on staff and dedicated non-clinical time for learning (smart-time) that encourages ongoing education and offer generous study leave, support and assistance from our Educators. 

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Commitment to oversee the processes required for a quality service with a patient centred focus.
  • A commitment to a team approach to care delivery.
  • Commitment to the provision of excellence in customer service
  • Has a genuine empathy and respect for older people
  • Has a sound knowledge and understanding of aged and dementia care

IMPORTANT: We value the health and safety of our healthcare team. As such, all front-line healthcare workers are required to have three doses of COVID vaccination (unless a valid exemption applies). Proof of vaccination (or exemption) will be necessary before your start date.

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a NDIS worker screening Clearance and a current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
