About the department
3 West is our General Medical/Acute Aged Care Unit. It is a 20-bed unit in the Gandel building that provides acute care to geriatric patients admitted from the community and our Emergency Department. We work closely as a multidisciplinary team with patients and families, to ensure we deliver agreed outcomes.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Nurse Manager with demonstrated clinical and management leadership skills in Acute General Medicine and Acute Gerontology to work with us in our busy 3 West Ward. You will be able to use your expert acute medical skills to assist the frail and vulnerable back to their health and well-being, support them and their family with life-changing decisions, or be privileged to manage them during their palliative care stage. This dynamic ward has established multidisciplinary team support and dedicated general and gerontology physicians. You will act as a clinical resource and actively participate in quality improvement methodology to ensure a high standard of patient care for the most frail and vulnerable in our community.
This is a permanent part-time position (0.7 FTE)
About you
You will be a motivated Registered Nurse/Associate Nurse Unit Manager with relevant experience and with a flexible and positive attitude. You will have attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and respectfully within the team to deliver excellent patient care within the framework of the Cabrini Mission and Values.
