ANUM – Theatre Operations

  • Central location, above Roma St Parkland, close to Public Transport

  • $64.45/hr - $69.06/hr plus super

The opportunity

Our Operating Theatres have an opportunity for an experienced Perioperative leader to join our theatre team on a full time basis. Reporting to our Nurse Unit Manager – Operating Theatres, you will bring the clinical knowledge and leadership required to ensure the provision of exceptional service is maintained every day.   You will play a vital role in the daily functioning of the theatre department as you will oversee all the services and processes in place to support the clinical teams working within each theatre.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational leadership to theatre teams through being responsible for the overseeing of equipment and instrumentation repairs, maintenance and compliance schedules including associated CAPEX review in conjunction with OT NUM.
  • Responsible for the service provision of the prostheses, setups and orderly teams, while working with stores team to source specific consumables etc.
  • Rostering, clinical audits & people leadership to the Orderly, Setup and Prostheses teams
  • Organisation of clinical trials and review of CAPEX requirements and consumable agreements 

Brisbane Private is a 181 bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands. Specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, Rehabilitation and general surgery and delivery of Brisbane’s leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services.

About you

As an experienced leader you will have extensive experience working in Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery in a fast-paced theatre complex (approximately 400 procedures pw).

You will have demonstrated proven experience, or a keen interest in people development and leading team culture whilst having a thorough depth of knowledge in ACORN & National Standards. To be successful, you will have:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Rostering experience
  • Experience leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  • Ability to communicate with influence
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
