Odyssey House Victoria offers two rounds of student intake, at the beginning of the year and then mid year. Applications can be submitted at any time but will be reviewed during December/January for semester 1 and June/July for Semester 2. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

Job Description
Student placement - South West Catchment
Location
For this placement, you would be based at the Werribee centre with intermittent work at other sites within the South West region of Melbourne. Students on placement in the South West will need to have a police check and a Working with Children Check
Eligibility
- Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Master of Social Work, Counselling or Psychology
- Diploma in Mental Health or Community Services
Your placement would include:
For Social Work Students:
- A day in the life of this position includes duty in central intake, completing comprehensive assessments, developing individual treatment plans and providing brief interventions. Your assessment and treatment plans will address risk for both the client and their family and social network. You will participate in clinical reviews and clinical supervision. You will be responsible for a counselling caseload, join our Care & Recovery Coordination (CRC). Workers in their outreach and advocacy functions, and provide facilitation support to our therapeutic day program.
For Counselling and Psychology Students:
- A day in the life of this position includes duty in central intake, completing comprehensive assessments, developing individual treatment plans, and making referrals, and providing brief interventions. Your assessment and treatment plans will address risk for both the client and their family and social network. You will participate in clinical reviews and clinical supervision. You will be responsible for a counselling caseload, including the development of therapeutic treatment plans and case recording.
For Diploma Students:
- A day in the life of this position includes observing and supporting our central intake, observing comprehensive assessments, shadowing our CRC Workers, developing individual treatment plans and making referrals, and preparing notes of observed interventions. Your observations will include assessing risk for both the client and their significant others. You will participate in clinical reviews and clinical supervision and other Catchment meetings. You will provide CRC and Brief Interventions in outreach and advocacy, and provide facilitation and support to our therapeutic day program.
