At Woolworths, we believe in putting our customers and team first. This role sits within the Safety Soutlons Tribe in Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) Platform. The AOVA Investigations Specialist role will contribute to the delivery of the SHW ambition of: We care for and protect everyone we engage through the AOVA squad. 

The Investigations Specialist is responsible for the implementation of the High Harm offender approach supporting Woolworths Group relating to AOVA risk. This role will work cross functionally across the Group in partnership with local law enforcement in the identification and apprehension of high harm offenders from our store environments.

This role will work cross functionally across the business, partnering with other Investigations teams to ensure best outcomes are achieved and effective external partnerships with State and Federal Police are leveraged.

What you’ll do:
 

  • Lead and support best practice Investigations aligned to a Group framework
  • Development and delivery of a high harm offender approach
  • Leverage State Based legislation to mitigate future risk of AOVA incidents through recidivist offenders
  • Utilisation of IMC data, Auror and WIMs to package an investigations brief working in collaboration with Police
  • Identify root cause of AOVA incidents and make recommendations through the squad to  implement initiatives to prevent recurrence
  • Supporting the relevant teams through incident responses when needed (Sev 1 & 2 AOVA incidents)

What you’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years experience in an Investigations role - Policing experience is a strong bonus
  • Prior experience leading Loss Prevention or Asset Protection teams, preferably in a highly matrixed  and complex retail or FMCG organisation
  • Functional expertise in risk mitigation relating to Acts of Violence and Aggression
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, supported by experience in leading teams
  • Ability to travel occasionally, as required
