AddressSkill Hire seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Apprentice and Skills Development Coach (Engineering and Fabrication Trades) to join our Group Training team from our host client's facility in Henderson. In this role, you will deliver practical welding training and mentor Skill Hire apprentices hosted by Civmec, supporting them in attaining occupational competence and reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Coach and train pre-apprentices in basic skills and safety, facilitating their transition into the organization
- Inspire and develop apprentices to become autonomous employees through progress reviews and ongoing support
- Monitor and ensure effective safeguarding of HSE, welfare, and support arrangements for apprentices
- Liaise with Technical and Further Education (TAFE) providers to monitor learner performance and maximize the link between classroom and workplace learning
- Ensure adherence to health and safety practices in the workshop and promote safe work practices among apprentices
- Communicate with Workshop Managers, Supervisors, and Tradespersons regarding apprentices facing difficulties meeting Civmec standards
- Assist in identifying and resolving fabrication/welding-related issues (personnel, consumable, or equipment-related)
- Trade Qualification in welding or a related field
- Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
- Current Driver's License
- Relevant working experience in the trade
- Demonstrated experience working with youth
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of Australian Apprentice, GTO, and RTO systems
- Strong mentoring, supervisory, or coaching skills
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
- Computer literacy
- Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
This is a full-time, site-based position with our host employer. The successful candidate will undergo pre-employment medical checks, including drug and alcohol screening.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum
