This Traineeship will be hosted in Hughenden, a small community of 1200 population, 400km West of Townsville and open to mature aged and junior age candidates.
You will be trained in plumbing and will apply increasing knowledge with an opportunity to perform with less supervision in accordance with the training and assessment requirements of this certificate course.
This apprenticeship will include:
- Carry out construction, maintenance and repair to plumbing, sewage and drainage systems.
- Connect and install water services, storage tanks, irrigation systems and service controls.
- Install and maintain gas systems, meters and appliances
- Carry out concreting, leveling and rendering
- Use of hand and power tools
- Operate Machinery
- Working at heights
- Assisting Tradesman with all general plumbing duties.
- Clear sewerage and stormwater blockages
You will be working a 76 hour - 9 day fortnight commencing at 6.30am to 3.30pm on average.
Requirements:
- Display a genuine interest in the plumbing trade
- Be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in the hot sun
- Capability to carry out work safely in accordance to company policy and procedures
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Problem solving skills and aptitude in analysing information
- Planning and prioritising skills
- Work experience in the industry or hands on experience with home projects
- Manual Drivers licence or working towards
- White Card or willing to obtain
- First Aid/ CPR certificate highly regarded
Successful applicants will be required to pass an aptitude test, and a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing

We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen trade qualification.
