INTRODUCTION:
Metso is seeking a motivated, Apprentice Master to assist in establishing & running a fully established internal apprentice program across the APA region.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective implementation and coordination/management of apprenticeships, across all business functions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Establishing effective relationships with relevant Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), Operational Leaders, education coordinators, HR and HSE team, and other relevant stakeholders inside and outside the business. Coordination of current and future internal and external training and coaching to ensure successful completion of their program.
- Work with the business to ensure the strategic objectives are met.
- Schedule and facilitate quarterly face to face meetings with the relevant Apprentices, Supervisors on site & Metso Training Academy Manager to ensure the Apprentice/Trainee is meeting all requirements to successfully complete their program.
- Ensure all administrative requirements are met, escalating any issues
- Monitor the progress of Apprenticeship/Traineeships to ensure compliance with the training plan and effective management of training contract end dates.
- Development to ensure RTO arrangements are compliant.
- Schedule quarterly meetings with RTO/s to monitor Apprenticeship progress, costs, quality of outcomes, and to explore additional traineeship and/or funding opportunities which align with strategy.
- Ensure all invoices and funding claims have been reviewed and processed on time
- Schedule quarterly meetings designated Apprenticeship Network Provider ensure Apprenticeship outcomes are on track.
- Provide the relevant business stake holders quarterly reports on the progress of Apprenticeships, including but not limited to:
- Funding received.
- Direct expenditure relating to the program.
- Completion rates.
- Assist with the development of the annual budget.
- Ensure that all expenditure is within the approved budget.
- Monitor progress of Apprentices training plans and ensure that they are meeting the timeframes for practical activities.
- Collate and file practical evidence in designated files.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Experience in working with Apprentices.
- Knowledge and use of computerised information management systems.
- Experience in fixed plant mining equipment
- Experience in computer-based systems
- Document writing skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Unrestricted “C” Class Australian Drivers licence
- Working with Children Card
- White Card
- Knowledge of statutory training/assessment requirements within the mining environment.
- Experience in liaising with RTO’s
- Trade Certificate
