Calling all Launceston students in grade 10, 11 & 12 with a real passion for working in the automotive industry, wishing to undertake a School Based apprenticeship in Certificate III Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology - AUR30620.
Under supervision, you would learn the necessary skills to service, maintain and repair Light Vehicles, whilst working in a team environment. As a School Based apprentice you would also be responsible for workshop cleaning and assisting other members of the team with servicing and problem solving.
What would this involve?
- You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your School Based apprenticeship and hosted to a business.
- You would be able to work between 7.5 and 15 hours each week during school term, scheduling around your schooling requirements, and could work extra hours during school holidays.
- Theory training conducted by TasTAFE.
- You would receive mentoring and support throughout the traineeship.
- At the end of your schooling, there would be an opportunity to continue your apprenticeship in a full time capacity.

Essential Criteria:
- Manual Drivers Licence.
- Ability to follow Work Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to work with oils, grease, petrol & diesel.
Desirable Criteria:
- Certificate II in Automotive or similar VET course qualification.
