ABOUT THE HUMAN RESOURCES BRANCHFinance’s Human Resources Branch supports our workforce with operational and strategic human resource activities such as pay and entitlements, recruitment and HR policy.The Workforce Planning & Reporting team provides strategic advice to the department in line with Finance’s Workforce Strategy. The team is also responsible for the provision of high-quality workforce reports to support important decisions in the department, based on accurate and relevant data. This includes the preparation and compilation of statutory reporting requirements, as well as other department-level activities such as Senate Estimates.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYAs a HR Data Analyst, you will work closely with the APS 6 Workforce Analyst to produce accurate and complex workforce data and reports. You will respond to a variety of workforce data requests from our internal stakeholders including senior leaders. You will use the SAP Human Resource Management System to generate data and reports.In this role you can expect to:
  • Use Finance’s Human Resource Management Information System, SAP and other reporting tools to generate data for workforce reporting.
  • Lead the quality assurance of reporting and data outputs to ensure they are accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Respond to queries from business areas for workforce data, manage updates to organisation and employee position details and cost centre allocation.
  • Apply your critical thinking curiosity and problem solving to workforce data queries to produce fit for purpose reports and data insights.
  • Liaise regularly with the Service Delivery Office on business area data requests and SAP corrections.
  • Use Excel and other data analytic tools such as Microsoft BI to present workforce data in an easy to understand manner.
  • Provide administrative and project support.

  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack. All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
  • This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing. Roles may be offered as either ongoing or non-ongoing subject to operational requirements. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months. Specified term vacancies may be extended up to a maximum period of 18 months.
