The Land Engineering Agency (LEA), as part of the CASG, supports various Directorates and Systems Program Offices to ensure successful requirements development, acquisition and in-service support of materiel. LEA provides services in engineering, testing, design and development and technical data management. Services are provided across the whole of the Defence Capability Life Cycle. As an LEA Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (CBRN&E) Engineer you will support, as part of an engineering and technical team the delivery of leading edge of Defence capability in:
- Counter CBRN,
- CBRN Defence systems, and
- Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. The ideal person for this role will have experience in the acquisition, maintenance and support of CBRN&E systems such as detecting technologies, decontamination systems, CBRN&E Personal Protective Ensembles (PPE) and disposal technologies. A working knowledge of Explosive Ordinance, Laser/LED’s and/or Robotics is also advantageous.As a CBRN&E Engineer, your role is to support the Technical Integrity of CBRN&E Materiel by providing Engineering advice and expertise to support CBRN&E Materiel Certification. The successful candidate will have:
- A Bachelor of Engineering Degree in either Chemical, BioMedical, Mechatronic, Electrical or Mechanical,
- Proven track record of delivering engineering outcomes, ideally in the CBRN&E field,
- Excellent stakeholder management, written and oral communication skills,
- Experience working within a Technical Regulatory Framework Responsibilities include:
- Providing Engineering expertise and advice on a wide range of CBRN&E systems.
- Conducting Engineering investigations.
- Providing novel solutions and assistance in the resolution of issues.
- Producing and update Engineering documentation.
- Managing small teams.
