The APS6 Fraud and Corruption Prevention Officer is in the Fraud Prevention and Intelligence section within the Audit and Assurance Branch of the Department of Social Services.We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who are curious and keen to contribute to the delivery of a range of new prevention, detection, deterrence, disruption and response strategies across our grant programs, schemes and corporate functions.Successful candidates will:
- support Fraud and Corruption risk owners to develop targeted Fraud and Corruption Risk Assessments (and control plans) for high risk programs, policies and functions, including identifying potential Fraud and Corruption vulnerabilities, controls, and treatment options
- provide Fraud and Corruption risk advice into new program/policy design, funding agreement design and grant management processes
- develop and deliver a Fraud and Corruption education strategy and communications plan
- liaise with internal branch staff to identify and incorporate operational intelligence relating to Fraud and compliance
- establish robust and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support whole-of-government fraud control and to identify strategies to improve fraud control operations.
To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the Department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. The suitable applicant must also obtain and maintain a security clearance conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).Applicants also must be able to establish their background as checkable to be considered eligible for a security clearance. Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance. Background history must cover 5 / 10 years (Baseline / Negative Vet 1 or Negative Vet 2) of employment, education, residential, criminal history and anything else specified by the AGSVA.
