Pay rate: $60.26 p/h ex super

About the Role:

The APS 6 Fraud Investigator (Labour Hire) is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The role is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS 6 Fraud Investigator (Labour Hire) is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the client’s business objectives.


Duties:

  • Provide evidence in criminal and civil court as a representative of the Australian Government client.
  • Analyse and process information to produce accurate and informative reports, undertaking administration, reporting and project work as required.
  • Conduct interviews, and prepare statements, affidavits, cases and briefs of evidence for referral to relevant parties including the Australian Federal Police and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
  • Assist with the execution of search warrants, which may require domestic air travel and working extended hours including overnight stays.


Required experience and skills for the Role include:

  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or its equivalent to conduct complex and sensitive criminal investigation activities.
  • High-level interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously.
  • Experience in conducting interviews and preparing statements and affidavits.
  • Experience in collecting, securing and managing evidential material and confidential information.
  • Ability to analyse and process information to produce accurate and informative reports.
  • Experience in conducting formal and informal discussions with partner agencies.
  • Ability to use computer and software applications including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.


Desirable experience and skills for the Role include:

  • Experience in providing evidence in criminal and/or civil court.
  • Experience in preparing briefs of evidence.
