Your new role
This government agency is currently looking to onboard multiple APS5, APS6, EL1 and EL2 Policy Officers. They are seeking skilled candidates for the positions below:
Policy Officer: Policy Officer professionals provide timely, accurate and persuasive advice, underpinned by analysis, contextual awareness, and stakeholder consultation.
Policy Analyst: Policy Analyst professionals develop and analyses policies guiding the design, implementation, and modification of government programs.
Strategic Policy Advisors: Strategic Policy Advice and Development professionals develop, analyse and modify government policies. They also set agendas and research and formulate and amend policy.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in strategic policy analysis and development
Experience working in a complex and fast-paced policy environment, including negotiation and influencing outcomes and providing strategic direction to staff and senior officers
Excellent written skills, including the ability to translate complex policy to a diverse range of stakeholders
Strong professional judgement
Experience working in condensed timeframes and changing priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders
Ability to work autonomously and to lead staff/subteams
Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt flexibly to change.
