APS5 Guidance Officer and APS6 Guidance Lead
12-month ongoing contract
APS5: $55.24 plus Super
APS6: $60.26 plus Super

Your new role
As an APS5 Guidance Officer or APS6 Guidance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in translating guidance documents from established government policies. Your responsibilities will include clear communication, policy interpretation, and creating user-friendly guidance materials. The Guidance Officer reports directly to a Guidance Lead. Working together your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Guidance Officer (APS5):

  • Interpret and translate complex policy and procedural information into clear, user-friendly guidance material

  • Liaise and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging

  • Draft documents in Plain English, creating user-guides for all business stakeholders

  • Update guidance documents to include process steps for the Customer Records Management System
    Guidance Lead (APS6):

  • Analyse policies and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Translate data and system analysis into actionable advice for the branch

  • Set work plans, prioritise tasks, and manage workflow efficiently

  • Provide guidance to the team on effective communication strategies

  • Understanding the NDIS framework and the 2013 NDIS Act

  • Familiarity with tools such as Confluence and JIRA

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a communications, policy or similar role (Government experience desirable)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to interpret and draft policy information

  • Proficiency in writing documents in Plain English

  • Understanding of the NDIS and the NDIS Act 2013
