Our client is seeking to engage an APS5 National Technical Support Officer.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 6 months with 2 X 6 months extension option
Eligibility/Security Requirement: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance and a Cleared Police Check.
REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
The Agency is seeking an enthusiastic and capable National Technical Support Officer, to lead the development and delivery of National Observing Operations priorities and responsibility for the management of the Agency's operational observing networks.
The National Technical Support Officer will play a vital role in the National Observing Operations team, providing essential administrative and operational support to ensure the successful execution of organisational uplift, initiatives, and national operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and be able to apply this knowledge to their work.
FULL REQUIREMENTS - RESPONSIBILITIES
The National Technical Support Officer includes but are not limited to:
- Administrative Support: Provide a range of administrative and support services, including routine correspondence, prepare reports, documentation and correspondence to support information flow and inform decision making. Support ongoing activities driving a nationally consistent approach to operations.
- Communication Support: Lead the preparation and distribution of communication materials. Facilitate communication among stakeholders, ensuring timely updates.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule meetings, workshops, and reviews. Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, tracking action items and follow-ups. Provide logistics and event management support to ensure meetings, training activities and events are effectively organised, catered for and required technology is provided.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Lead the preparation of operational and technical maintenance reports and associated documentation. Undertake administrative tasks such as finance reconciliations, procurement, inventory records, stores and stock control. Maintain accurate documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports. Organize and file records for easy retrieval and reference. Manage and coordinate National consistency of NOO SharePoint sites.
- Asset and Service Management: Support a strong asset management culture and consistent usage of enterprise asset management system (IBM Maximo) to accurately record asset information, asset performance and issue stakeholder communication. Adhere to service management processes based on the ITIL framework and work to meet service level targets for maintenance completion and outage restoration response times.
- Liaison and Representation: Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders at the appropriate level and represent the Agency in a professional manner in accordance with Australian Public Service values and Code of Conduct. Respond to queries on observing assets in your area of responsibility and provision of asset information and data.
- Quality Management: Participate in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of products and services and the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system to achieve and maintain the ongoing certification of compliance with the ISO 9001 quality management Standard.
- Compliance: Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidance in the course of your work.

The National Technical Support Officer should hold or have the capability to acquire:
- Previous experience in administrative or operations support roles is preferred.
- Proficiency in office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Leadership skills.
