APS6 Guidance Lead
MANDATORY: AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN required to work within Federal GovernmentAPPLICATIONS CLOSE: 9am Thursday 22nd of March 2024.Our Federal Government Agency which supports a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. Is seeking to engage in an Guidance Lead for a 12-month assignment with potential extension in ADEALAIDE CBD. About the TeamThe Service Guidance and Practice Branch is responsible for presenting Agency policy, improvements and system enhancements in clear operational guidelines to support the Agency's front line (National Delivery). This guidance enables front line staff to make consistent decisions and participants to have choice and control over their lives. The branch also develops content for participants and external stakeholders to support Our Guidelines, including letters, forms, factsheets and guides to what the Agency does and does not fund. About the RoleThe APS6 Guidance Lead is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. The position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.
The APS6 Guidance Lead is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Leading the development and updating of internal and external guidance with a participant focus that reflects the Agency’s policy positions and meets our plain English and accessibility standards.
Listening and responding to feedback from participants and disability peak bodies to ensure the participant is at the centre of all Agency’s guidance.
Understanding of the key stages of the participant pathway, specific participant cohorts and technical processes within SAP CRM and PACE business system requirements.
Analysing supporting data and systems to develop internal and external guidance that reflects the Agency’s policy positions and best practice.
Initiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Representing the branch as a guidance subject matter expert in multi-disciplinary teams and providing guidance expertise and advice for the delivery of requests from the Agency’s executive, Board, Minister and other Australian Government Departments in a timely manner.
Supporting continuous improvement for all branch deliverables, including maintaining best practice and identifying and implementing innovations.
Managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards, governance protocols and accuracy, meeting defined timeframes and performing other duties as requested.

Temporary contract for 12 months, with possibility to extend
Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm – 7 & ½ hour days 5 days a week.
