This well-known statutory authority responsible for regulating communications and mediate to maximise the economic and social benefits for Australia is seeking 2 x APS6 Legal Policy Officers to join one of their branches due to a recent restructure.
The branch has a lead role in relation to radiocommunications policy. Your section within the branch is responsible for the policy and administrative aspects of broadcast spectrum planning and regulation, including the provision of advice on broadcasting carriage policy issues.
Your new role
You will prepare various written work, including correspondence, reports, briefing papers, discussion papers relevant to legislation and policy issues. You will perform research and/or analysis that contributes to policy development, preparation of briefs and interpretation of legislation.
You will work in a small team, where you will provide advice on the policy considerations relevant to requests received.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience in a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have the ability to contribute your own ideas and apply strong conceptual and analytical skills to a wide range of telecommunications policy issues. You will have a proven track record in contributing to the delivery of effective policy outcomes and will work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where meeting deadlines is essential.
You will have effective communication skills to convey complex ideas to a wide range of audiences, while building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also have the skills to research, evaluate, solve, and implement complex policy issues.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
