Job description

Our participants, Our people, Our purpose
Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
We have an incredible opportunity for a motivated APS6 Program Support to join the National Remote Services Branch. The National Remote Services Branch (NRSB) supports the delivery of the NDIS in Remote and Very Remote (RVR) communities across Australia. We want people with a disability from every community to access the supports and services they need. Our Branch shows respect to unique cultures and the need to build on community strengths through collaboration, engagement and co-design.
Where you can add value
The APS6 Program Support Officer role is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
Not every day will be the same and being adaptable is the key to success within this role. Main elements of this role include:
Leading and/or managing staff responsible for providing business administration support, expertise and/or technical knowledge across a range of activities including systems, workload management, people performance, financial, staff lifecycle, knowledge and change management.
Provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.
Assessing and maintaining quality processes and documentation relating to service delivery, ensuring alignment to legislation and policy
Coordinating and analysing data and written information for the purposes of drafting branch level communications and/or high level internal and external communications including reports, advice, presentations and communications for Ministerial, Parliamentary and executive responses.
Collecting and auditing workforce planning and capacity data, reporting on staff lifecycle and confirming against financial, systems and people performance data.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You will be a confident team player who will be able to work independently and in a virtual team environment. You are able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and will provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries. You may also need the ability to travel remotely by four-wheel drive and small planes if required.
Your NDIA Experience
We work as one team. We are accepting, diverse and driven. We take a shared approach to making progress. We welcome and support each other and encourage different ideas, insights and opinions. We empower and enable each other to be our best. We collaborate, connect and work together to create a workplace that makes us proud. And while were based far and wide across the country, we make sure nobody feels they're out on their own.
You will work for a socially inclusive and culturally diverse workplace, that is making a meaningful impact to the lives of more than 600,000 Australians.
Access to higher superannuation and above market leave entitlements
Competitive remuneration and working conditions that support a positive work life balance
Access to ongoing professional development and learning
While this role is ideally performed from Darwin, Alice Springs, Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane, Perth, Karratha and Broome, remote working arrangements may be considered.
