Architect / Draftsperson

Lightwave Architecture is looking for an enthusiastic and professional Project Architect to join our studio. Lightwave has been undertaking projects on the South East Qld and Northern NSW for more than 20 years.  With the revived interest in these regions, we have numerous small to medium sized projects and we are looking for talented professionals to be a part of our team.  The current work includes multi residential, multi dwelling, individual domestic residences and some Master Planning. We also work in education and aged care. 

We are a client centric design practice, hence we looking for a team member who can combine an empathetic design approach with design and documentation skills to assist in creating rewarding built environments for our clients and their clients. Candidates for this role must have 5 years experience and an in-depth knowledge of ArchiCAD. (preferred)

• A motivated architect, keen to apply their skills and learn and develop new skills
• Key responsibilities include:
• Managing projects through design, documentation and construction
• Forming an empathetic understanding of clients needs and requirements
• Undertaking a collaborative approach with clients, project teams and specialist consultants
• Preparing work for and managing the various approval process.
• A willingness to work on well designed and professionally delivered projects

We are looking for a candidate with:

• 5 to 10 years of experience
• Experience with ArchiCAD preferred
• Ability independently address problems and find solutions using resources available
• Initiative to complete tasks, finding the most effective process and completing in a high quality manner
• Drive to combine feedback with own desire for improvement
• Ability to communicate effectively with consultants and clients
• Excellent ability and confidence in communicating design decisions and process choices
• Eager to learn new processes, methods, technologies
• Interest in sustainable and passive design
