We are looking for an outstanding Area Manager who is able to work hands-on with our Centre Directors. The role is based in Adelaide, with regular travel throughout the state, so your base location is flexible but you must be able to travel. 

Our ideal candidate will hold a wealth of exceptional knowledge, and will inspire high-quality childcare service provision in our Centre Directors based on their own extensive experience in the Early Childhood industry.

Working directly with our Centre Directors, you will provide support to ensure quality educational programs and service provision. You will liaise with our Centre Directors in person, over the phone, and via Zoom. Your role will see you play an integral part in ensuring our childcare centres meet and exceed their obligations under the National Quality Framework.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with Centre Directors who are widely geographically dispersed, to implement systems and operational processes for the effective day-to-day management of each centre.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to centre leaders and all staff to promote a high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the delivery of engaging, creative and environmentally friendly programs for children.
  • Build and maintain open and supportive communication with staff, children and families at each centre.
  • Ensure each centre operates according to company policies and procedures, legislative requirements, and the National Quality Framework.
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships and effective communication with various external agencies.
  • Manage each centre’s budget and expenditure within budget guidelines.
  • Mentor managers and staff to achieve their own professional goals and high levels of performance.
  • Manage internal and external reporting requirements efficiently.
  • Be able to Identify and embrace opportunities to continuously support services to learn and grow through professional development.

About you

  • A Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent as approved by ACECQA.
  • Current first aid certification, asthma, and anaphylaxis training.
  • A current Working with Children Check and a Blue Card.
  • MUST have experience as an Area Manager, managing multiple childcare services at the one time.
  • MUST be willing to travel regularly, either driving or flying to centres.
  • MUST be able to travel interstate on a regular basis
  • A high level of knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership, people and time management skills.
  • A high level of understanding of operational best practice.
  • Ability to influence and mentor a large, geographically dispersed team.
  • A work ethic that embraces a high level of integrity and reliability.
