The role

Make our team, your team - with an opportunity for a Full time Asbestos/HAZMAT Field Consultant. Full on the job training is provided.

OCTIEF, a member of ALS Global, provides comprehensive on the job training, expanding your role exposure and scope as you develop your knowledge and expertise across the areas of this diverse role.  Your experience is gained working alongside and mentored by our supportive Senior Field Consultants and through strong exposure to a wide variety of environments and projects.  

This role is full time field work and is a physically demanding and diverse field position where no two days are the same offering.  It would suit a graduate in the fields of science, geology, environmental, or experience in an aligned industry.

The day to day

Utilising our fleet vehicles, you will travel and work alongside an expert Field Consultant to progress a worklist of testing and inspection services each day.  Your field role is balanced by the generating of concise reports for review and issuing to clients. 

You will learn and deliver a range of services for our clients including asbestos and hazardous materials inspections, clearance inspections. air monitoring and fibre counting along with technical & risk reporting. The value of a Octief role is the mentoring and on the job learning and development we offer to build and develop your skill set in this specialist area. In addition to building your experience and capability as a Field Consultant, those progressing a science degree have the opportunity to consider a career path with the broader ALS Global business.

The essentials

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • A passion for client service delivery and aspiration to be active out in the field, rather than predominantly in an office environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level MS Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work autonomously in the field and effectively within a team environment.  
  • The ability to travel as required.
  • A valid open Driver's Licence & construction industry white card are required.
  • Working with children, criminal and employment health checks may also be necessary.
