Aso6 Senior Regulatory Officer

On behalf of our South Australian Government Business Unit based in the Adelaide CBD, we are looking for an experienced Senior Regulatory Officer to commence with Attorney General's Department. An attractive hourly rate is on offer commensurate with skills and experience.  Initially a short term placement, there is possibility for longer term extension.

About the role

The Senior Regulatory Officer provides advice on operational policy and legislative reform and assists in providing a high quality research and project support role across all legislation administered Attorney General's Department.

This includes undertaking research, consultation with a wide variety of stakeholders and development of proposals contributing to legislative reform and implementation and management of the strategies, plans and processes needed to ensure projects achieve their agreed objectives; monitoring and recommending strategies to effectively manage emerging issues and risks; and preparation of written reports, briefings and responses to correspondence and Ministerials.

Duties and skills & experience required:

• Proven ability to determine priorities, cope effectively with high volumes of work and to meet deadlines.
• Experience in researching and drafting briefings, reports and submissions for senior management.
• Extensive experience in the interpretation of legislation and the provision of advice relating to operational policy.
• Experience in the development and/or use of spreadsheets to report on project financial performance and record statistical information.
• Experience within Government in strategy development and implementation.
• Experience in managing and/or undertaking projects.
• Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, internal and external to government.
