Role purpose

We are seeking Two (2) Assessment Services Connect Coordinators to join our caring, compassionate and friendly teams covering the Hervey Bay and Bundaberg regions.   

The purpose of the role is to engage and build rapport with families to ensure quick  connections to services and supports to improve on the safety and wellbeing of the child(ren) and their family.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partner with Child Safety through co-response, to assist families during the Child Safety Investigation and Assessment process. 
  • Uphold best practice and consistent service delivery alongside ASC team, internal programs, and external partners.
  • Demonstrate thorough and holistic assessment, clear communication, and time sensitive support to families.
  • Maintain positive and effective partnerships and collaborative case management processes with external and internal services.
  • Work flexibly alongside office sites (Bundaberg & Hervey Bay) and provide outreach support into homes.
  • Identify and coordinate the opportunity for family led decision making meetings process including referrals, identifying, and coordinating participants, and facilitating meetings during the IA stage.
  • Collaborate with internal CQID programs to enhance assessment strategies and outcomes in the development of safety and support plans to keep children safe.
  • Build respectful and professional relationships with service users, agencies, partners, community, colleagues, elders, and clients.
  • Work at all times to advance the reputation of CQID and undertake additional relevant duties as required. 
  • Be accountable for achieving targets, including indicators that support service delivery and CQID strategic and operational plans. 
  • Participate and contribute to the organisation’s compliance obligations under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS) 
  • At all times work within CQID’s Workplace Health & Safety Policies and Procedures 
  • Other responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications and experience 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate capability in the following areas:

  • A tertiary degree in relevant discipline is essential.
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage preferred but not essential, connection too or strong knowledge of community and culture.
  • Demonstrated awareness and understanding of complex challenges and key issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of Administration support within a complex and high-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with a high level of professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver timely outcomes with limited supervision.
  • Experience providing targeted Assessment and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people, and children in a child protection framework.
