THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Corruption and Crime Commission (the Commission) is a leading anti-corruption agency whose primary purpose is to improve the integrity of and reduce the incidence of serious misconduct and corruption in the Western Australian Public Sector.

 
The Operations Directorate is responsible for the Commission's investigative capabilities. The two business units, Investigations and Operations Support, work together to proactively identify and investigate allegations of serious misconduct, unexplained wealth and criminal benefits. The focus of the Commission's investigations is on systemic and complex matters, many of which require the use of specialist capabilities.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Assessor and Investigative Assistant is responsible for assessing referrals of unexplained wealth and criminal benefits to determine whether the matter warrants further investigation by the Commission in accordance with the Criminal Property Confiscation Act 2000 (CPC Act).  The Assessor and Investigative Assistant will also provide investigative and administrative support to the Financial Investigations Team as required.

The Commission requires applicants to be Australian citizens or be immediately eligible for citizenship, and appointment is conditional on satisfactory completion of a rigorous security clearance process.
