About the role:The
Assistant Accountant plays a crucial role in accurately accounting for the organisation's expanding asset portfolio, ensuring accuracy in reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, and functioning as a vital business partner in asset management. Being a proficient technical accountant, the Asset Accountant adeptly handles the intricate accounting, settlement, and reporting aspects of the organisation's assets, while also being hands-on in issue resolution. The role delivers value through delivering timely, accurate and relevant information to the key decision makers.
Other responsibilities include:- Maintain the general ledger, fixed assets, and structure within the finance system, including preparing and posting general journals and managing ledgers up to consolidated financial statements.
- Complete month-end tasks and reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts for inter-company loans, prepayments, and fixed assets, and provide relevant reconciliations and analysis for Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
- Analyse movements in Balance Sheet and P&L accounts and provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Oversee billing transactions to ensure accurate processing of customer invoices, monthly income in advance billings, sundry income, and subleases.
- Set up new customers, change orders, and other modifications in the system promptly, assisting in issue resolution.
- Reconcile group bank accounts daily, resolve reconciling items, and assist in the collections process for overdue debts.
About you:This role would be suitable for a candidate who has a Finance, Accounting or Commerce degree and commencing/working towards your CA/ CPA qualification.
- Previous working exposure within a financial reporting-based position.
- Possess strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Approach tasks with an investigative and analytical mindset, ensuring accuracy and completeness in outcomes.
Essential:- Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
